COMMENTS: PASCAL CUCARO (Born  1915 - Youngstown, Ohio; Died  2004 - San Rafael, California) Cucaro was born to Italian immigrant parents living in Ohio. During the summers of his childhood he worked in the circus.  After serving in World War II, he attended the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco, then returned to Europe to spend time in France, Spain, and Italy to study art on his own. Cucaro was an icon of the Beat years in San Francisco's North Beach - being the winner of numerous medals and awards and exhibited with success worldwide including at a one-man show at the Butler Institute of Art in 1958. He had a long running association with The Cory Gallery in San Francisco and was collected by many famous Hollywood personalities of the 1950's & 1960's.
